Built to Last
The story of a problem that needed solving, a craftsman who knew how, and a team determined to build something that doesn't end up in a landfill.
"Holda Kit exists to produce functional, durable, and environmentally aware products that don't rust, rot, or end up as microplastics — gear that can be passed on, taken apart, repurposed, and eventually recycled."
A Problem Worth Solving
It started simply: a paddleboarder needed a side rack for a new van. The company that made his original rack was gone. The parts weren't available. A lesser person would have bought something off the shelf.
Instead, a custom whitewater raft frame builder did what he always does — he built it himself. Using the same aircraft-grade aluminum and fittings trusted to survive the Grand Canyon, he engineered a rack that was lighter, stronger, and far easier to mount and adjust than anything on the market.
"He took the same parts used to raft the Grand Canyon and built something better than what existed."
That rack became Holda Kit. And it caught attention.
The originator — growing older, with no desire to run a company — reached out for a partner. In 2025, a younger engineer/MBA said yes. In 2026, a third team member with deep expertise in branding and marketing joined the crew.
Three people. Three backgrounds. One shared conviction: that well-designed, well-built products shouldn't be disposable.
Together, they're growing an idea into a company — one that designs and builds products theoretically capable of lasting forever, like high quality tools handed down through generations.
Holda Kit products are designed and field-tested by GarnBuilt, a Washington-based design and fabrication company on the edge of the Scablands. The originator continues to create, road test, and river test new ideas.
The Team
Three people working hard to turn a great idea into a lasting company — each bringing something the others don't have.
The Originator
Custom whitewater raft frame builder. Real-world fabricator. The reason Holda Kit exists. Still creating, road testing, and river testing every product.
The Builder
Younger, technical, and driven. Said yes when it mattered. Brings engineering rigor and business thinking to every system Holda Kit designs.
The Storyteller
MBA with deep expertise in brand and marketing strategy. Making sure the world knows what Holda Kit is, what it stands for, and who it's built for.
Built on These Principles
Every Holda Kit product is engineered around four core commitments. Not marketing language — actual design criteria that show up in every build.
Built for Real Use
Designed, tested, and refined through real travel, real roads, and real adventures — not theory. Every Holda Kit rack has been on the road before it ships to you.
Modular by Nature
Built to adapt. One system, multiple setups. Evolving with how people travel and play — not locked into one configuration forever.
Secure Without Complexity
No overengineering. No unnecessary parts. Just smart design that holds fast — so you can focus on the water, not the gear.
Respect for the Wild
Made to last so fewer things get replaced, discarded, or wasted. Aircraft-grade aluminum, stainless steel, wood, and natural fiber — materials that age well and recycle clean.
More Than Racks
That hands-on fabrication experience is what keeps every Holda Kit system modular, strong, and functional. The product line reflects a lifetime of building things that work.
Built to Order
Every Holda Kit is made specifically for your setup — van, camper, or custom rig. Build times may vary. Quality never does.
